THE SCHOOL HISTORY  PURPOSE

          JANUARY 1997,THE INDONESIA PRESIDENT Mr.SOEHARTO AND THE JAPANESE PRIME MINISTER Mr,TANAKA,DISCUSSUED ABOUT THE COOPERATION BETWEEN BOTH COUNTRIES FOR THE IMPROVEMENT  OF QUALITY ON HUMAN RESOUCES IN MARITIME SECTOR,ESPECIALLY TO FULFIL THE NEED OF RATINGS ON MERCHANT FLEETS.

         28 JUNE 1980,THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE 1st JAPANESE GRANT AID PROJECT BY THE MINISTER OF COMMUNICATION~Mr.ROESMIN NURJADIN.

        JUNE  1998,THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE 2nd JAPANESE GRANT AID PROJECT BY MINISTER OF COMMUNICATION~Ir.AZWAR ANAS.

        30 JULY 1996,THE ESTABILSHMENT OF 3rd JAPANESE GRANT AID PROJECT BY THE MINISTER OF COMMUNICATION~Dr.HARYANTO DHANUTIRTO.

        BISEDES,THERE ARE ALSO DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF TRANING  EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES SUPPORTED BY THE INDONESIAN GOVERMENT BUGDET AND SOME FORIEGN SHIPPING COMPANIES.

THE SCHOOL MISSION

             THE TASKS AND FUCTIONS OF BP2IP BAROMBONG PRESCRIBES IN MOC DECREE Nr.KM.168/OT.001/Phb~83.

AND, THE SCHOOL MISSIONS WILL BE AS FOLLOWS :

1.TO HELD THE EDUCATION AND TRANING.SUCH AS

    a.REGULER COURSES,AS DP~VI

    b.SPECIAL APPROVED COURSES,AS NEAR COASTAL

        VOYAGE AND RESTRICTED~NCV OFFICERS.

   c.MARINE SAFETY COURSES.EITHER BASIC SAFETY

       TRANING OR FAMILIARIZATION TRANING.

2.TO MAKE A SUCCESS OF THE INDONESIAN GOVERMENT

   PROGRAMS AS PRESCRIBES IN THE OUTLINE OF

   NATIONAL DEVELOMMENT PLAN.

3.TO AVOID BACK~WASH EFFECT (THE NEGATIFE EFFECTS

   OF DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES).

4.TO GIVE AN ADDED VALUE TO PEOPLE BY EMPLOY THE

   SCHOOL GRADUATES  ON FORIEGN SHIPPING

   COMPANIES,AND THEREFORE IMPROVING THE GROSS

   DOSMESTIC PRODUCT.
